Hello, dirtballs.

Coach Schneider is a character in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge.

He was a Physical Education teacher at Springwood High School in Springwood, Ohio. He was the first victim in the Freddy's Revenge killing spree. He is the secondary antagonist of the second film as well as a victim of Freddy Krueger. He is portrayed by the actor Marshall Bell.

Story

A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge

Known as being hard-nosed, he was known for having a stick up his ass, and very strict with his students, particularly Ron Grady and Jesse Walsh. One day they were playing baseball in PE class, and the two boys got into a fight. Because of that, while everyone was playing basketball and having fun, he made them do pushups around the track. Another day, he overheard them badmouthing him, and made them run laps around the track. In his personal life, he was gay, although it was clearly not a secret, such as him hanging out at a gay leather bar called Don's Place. It was rumored that he likes pretty boys and this was confirmed by Jesse Walsh.

As he is about to have a drink, Coach Schneider appears from behind, wearing full S&M leather attire. As punishment for underage drinking, Schneider takes Jesse back to the school gym to run laps. Schneider makes Jesse run several laps around the gym, and then sends Jesse to the showers. As Jesse is showering, Schneider gets a jump rope, apparently with bad intentions for Jesse, and Freddy Krueger makes the gym/sports equipment come to life and then proceeds to beat Schneider and then two jump-ropes come to life and wrap around his wrists and drag him to the locker room showers. The ropes tie him to the shower pipes, and then he is stripped naked. A towel then starts whipping his butt and Jesse vanishes into the shower steam. Freddy emerges from the steam and rakes his claws down his back at least twice, and possibly does other things, killing him. The steam clears and Jesse is wearing the glove.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

Hypothetically, his soul may have been absorbed by Freddy and, if so, may have been released when Alice Johnson defeated him in the fourth movie. However, this is questionable, since he was obviously an adult, and the film series shows that Freddy is fueled by the souls of people under twenty.

Personality

Schneider is a man of few words and when he decides to open his mouth it is only to give orders. He became violent towards Jesse when he found him in Don's Place and then forced him to run around the PE room.

Between the lines it could be said that he is a pervert who likes sadomasochistic games.

Physical appearance

Schneider is introduced as a forty-year-old man who maintains his figure by being a physical education coach. He has blonde hair that turns honey-colored depending on the light, and blue eyes. His height is similar to that of his students.

Relationships

Ron Grady

He is usually too severe with Ron but more with Jesse, that is why when he discovers them both fighting he sends them to do an exercise routine that was a total abuse of power. He repeated the same command when he overheard him and Jesse taunting him in the locker room.

Jesse Walsh

It's with Jesse that you see the most complex student-teacher dynamics. When a ball hit Jesse's head, instead of looking out for his well-being, all he did was speak bad terms to him.

According to Ron, Schneider likes cute boys like Jesse, that's why between the lines it can be deduced that he doesn't seem to be a good coach for boys because of the type of verbal and physical violence (the scene that pushes Jesse against the chairs) that he exerts on his students. It was Schneider who seemed to have bad intentions towards Jesse that night he found him at the Don's Place, however this is questionable because Freddy kills him first.

Other media

Jesse's Lost Journal

While the events depicted in Jesse's Lost Journal are not part of the series timeline or canon, Mark Patton (who played Jesse Walsh in A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge) wrote a string of events that he believes could go down in history as "what really happened." Following the timeline of the film series, the events we see in Freddy's Revenge take place in 1986, while the events described in Jesse's diary are mentioned as occurring in 1982 and 1985.

Trivia

  • Most of the adults Freddy kills in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series are either among those who burned him to death or were helping the teenage characters. Schneider was definitely not helping the teenage characters.
